The most common and reliable battery type for modern electric scooters and e-bikes. Lithium-ion batteries are lightweight, long-lasting, and offer excellent energy density — meaning more power and range in a smaller, lighter pack. They also support fast charging and maintain consistent performance over hundreds of charge cycles.
LiPo batteries are a newer version of lithium technology. They use a flexible polymer electrolyte, allowing for slimmer, lighter designs and higher power output. LiPo packs are often used in high-performance scooters and e-bikes that demand instant acceleration or compact size. However, they require careful charging and temperature control.
Lead-acid batteries are the oldest type still found in some low-cost or older electric scooters. They’re heavy, bulky, and slower to charge, but relatively cheap to produce. They have lower energy density, meaning less range and more weight for the same power. They’re best suited for budget or stationary applications, not long-distance riding.
